Although I know that what you're working on is relevant and could eventually lead to industry collaborations with our graduates, LinkedIn invitations don't have enough context to be useful to the readers, so please don't post them. I've re-enabled moderation on the list to prevent this from happening in the future. Sorry for the noise! Thanks, Michael On 1/27/2013 10:28 AM, Adam M. Gerson wrote: > > LinkedIn > > > Adam M. As some of you remember, this list began as a discussion list, and as a result, some of our oldest members were still able to post unmoderated email. We have reset everyone's moderation bits, so this should not happen again. On to the updates! We are continuing to progress nicely toward our objective of creating an interdisciplinary university. We have been granted use of 30,000 square feet of campus space in Cleveland for instruction, and we look forward to welcoming our first 100 students in the Fall of 2015! Our initial curriculum has been slightly modified to meet the accreditation requirements of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, and we are planning to begin the process within the year. At the same time, we recognize the growth in online learning, and have resolved to continue building out and innovating within our online curriculum. We are currently running three concurrent free courses: Introduction to Higher Mathematics, taught by Bill Shillito (winner of the nationwide TEDEd / Kohl's Cares lecture competition). This course *starts tomorrow*: http://www.polymathlectures.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=91 Positive Psychology, by Dr. Orin Davis: http://www.polymathlectures.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=90 The Computational Core of Social Cognition, by Dr. John Bolender: http://www.polymathlectures.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=89 Over the coming months we will also begin to review and pull in high-quality online courseware to support a project-based online degree program, similar in scope to the physical program that we are building in Cleveland. Finally, you may be very interested in our new Polymath Blog! We have interesting articles on polymathy in the past, present, and future, as well as discussion topics ranging from photography and programming to philosophy and ethics: http://blog.projectpolymath.org Buckle your seatbelts, because 2013 is going to be a wild ride! Once we're settled down in Cleveland, we have a large number of events ready to kick off, including keynote lectures, demonstrations, performances, and a nationwide interdisciplinary "Grand Challenge Summit" in the works. As always, you'll be the first to hear about these events! We hope that you will be able to attend and look forward to meeting many of you over the course of the year.
